DIY Crossbow
That's quite an awesome project, I'm glad it turned out well! Regarding the William Tell challenge, there could be a way to circumvent it and still get internet cool guy points: put the apple over a clothing store dummy with a medieval-style hooded cloak on it, shoot the apple (repeat as many times as you need to impale the apple), film it, and then, film someone from another angle with that same cloak taking the shot apple and holding it as if they were the one with it on their head; nobody will notice if you film the store dummy from the back
