Mrs D wanted to see Back to Black on Netflix, the recent Amy Winehouse bio. It did not appeal to me so I was on my laptop but looking up on occasions it was as expected a depressing slog through her life. The only one of her songs I liked was Valerie but that was down to Mark Ronson who got a great beat down for the track and made it. One hugely depressing film that must have bombed as it is on stream so soon. Don't bother it shite

I read today that Freddie Flintoff has been signed for a relaunch of Bullseye. Now the whole thing about Bullseye was that it was so low brow and the contestants won a load of shite they could never use as they had to split the winnings with their partner. Also, Jim Bowen cannot be replaced with his unique compere roll that was the best bit. I just do not understand the Freddie Flintoff thing, I never watched Top Gear when they were running it into the ground and Bullseye the Resurrection will be dead when it flops. It is a bit like a Jeremy Kyle show with darts.

It's not worth a watch before it even starts.

Mrs D discovered the new series of Big Brother ( I had not mentioned it was on) so I had to suffer the catch-up opening show. In fairness, she did speed through a lot of the gush and whooping. I told her my instant prediction of the likely tick box list of entrants and I got it almost right to her annoyance. What a sad indictment of the UK with this assembly of trash. Apart from a female forensic psychologist (I think) who seems too normal, the rest are a right bunch of morons and misfits. I watch something on my laptop but my attention keeps getting drawn to these open-mouthed, mock-surprised idiots all limited to synchronised 'Oh my God' and talking in a faux Jamaican patois. I doubt anyone on UHM here will be watching, I suggest you keep it that way.

Jim Bowen: So what do you do for a living?

Contestant: I'm unemployed at the moment Jim

Jim Bowen: Great super marvellous

He was a one off. I loved his patter 🤣

I stayed overnight at my mates down in Kent years ago. His missus was right into Big Brother so I had to sit for a couple of hours pretending I liked that shite. I think I'm still traumatised.

Yes, Flintoff will never capture that essential theme Jim gave to the show. Apparently, his brother-in-law used to supply the speedboat and caravan prizes that the winners would not have been able to use in the main.

We watched the last episode of Funny Woman, a 60s-based semi-comedy drama on Sky. This second series was a disappointment, as it became stupidly woke, with miscast ethnic actors in roles that would never have happened in the day. Some woke idiot must have taken control, as it is a plod of an unlikely story with few laughs and an irritating cast of poor actors. Don't bother it is shite.

Mrs D wanted to see Until I Kill You on ITV this week based on a true story. It did not appeal to me, as I was familiar with the John Sweeney case having had to sit through this case a number of times on Mrs D's crime documentaries. I was half-watching and quickly lost interest. I hoped he would kill Anna Maxwell Martin, who has cloned herself into an annoying Nicola Walker. Utter shite.

Yes my other half has recorded that so I suppose I’ll end up watching it for better or worse.
On the subject of real life crime I’ve been listening to a series about the lord Lucan case on radio 4 just after the news at 1.45 . I’ve found the short programmes to be quite interesting. I’ve missed a couple but they are easy enough to find on BBC sounds.

There was a Lucan documentary on last night, I did not watch it as I am familiar with the case. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0024qbc might be of interest to you G

Yes I’d taped that . Not so much as I expect much new on such an old case but sometimes it’s good to compare two programmes of the same subject even if one is just audio .

Well I watched the first episode of that Lucan programme. Comparing it to the radio programme there is a distinct difference. The radio one is more concerned with the crime itself and subsequent legal cases . It also goes into lady Lucan in more detail . It’s probably the better for anyone not familiar with the case or anyone wanting to brush up on it . It seemed more factual.
The tv version concentrated on the second son of the nanny who was put up for adoption as a baby and didn’t find out until many years later . The actual crime is only really briefly mentioned and I get the feeling that anyone not knowing the case might be a bit lost. It was interesting but a bit dragged out I thought . I’ll still watch the remaining episodes. I’d be tempted to say I prefer the radio programme, it seems more precise , less waffle probably because the show is less than 15 minutes for each episode.
