Hi Stoday. Now there is the rub indeed. Yes you can add extra memory, well you can to the old iMac G5 I have here. I only have 2G but I think I can have another 2G added, I will check for you. I say 'rub' as I am pretty sure iMac's are more limited than conventional PC's when it comes to memory upgrades due to slots (lack of)

Yes the maximum memory in a G5 is 4G (http://store.apple.com/us/configure/Z0FH?mco=NzMyNjM1)

(and 1T HD but I don't think that is the upper limit)

4GB RAM, that was the limit for Win XP 32bit as far as i know. I think it only shows 3.2GB available under SP2 but will use the extra bit in the graphics card (if supported) etc.
