Tony may be too expensive unless he does a special.

I think we should continue this on a new thread/topic under Plumbing - Central Heating and Boiler so that the original topic here is maintained.thescruff wrote:Tony may be too expensive unless he does a special.
I'm not sure how appropriate it will be, but I think the topic will be Boiler servicing problems and service engineers. I hope to see you guys there. Thanks

Thanks for this info. I've not heard back from the sellers I contacted sp far. But having looked at some pictures on eBay, it seems the BRD91a is much bigger and more squar-ish than the R6660D rather than smaller. Perhaps, by smaller, Honeywell mean slimer ? But thanks for the info.

Re: How to install a Room Thermostat on my condensing boiler
Only just seen this thread. I only look in Boilers and Central Heating! Evidently my ears were not burning.
Yes, I can cover your location for a service.
But be aware that servicing should normally be done during the summer when we are quiet. So now we have to fit it in between repairs.
I suggest we wait until you have fitted your new prog stat in case you have any installation issues or want advice on setting/using it.
When you are ready contact me from my profile by telephone, text or email. Dont leave any voice messages because they can take a while to be heard at busy times.

Or sent an email or text.
Usually when I see those FAOs they are impossible to answer questions!
When a boiler gave an unlisted fault code the UK tech help asked the designers in Italy about it for me. Back came the answer, "fault, other"

How about I do the job for you and post the money through your letterbox. Would that make it easy enough for you ?

Thanks for your reply. I'll get in touch when the weather is warmer or when I get hold of a thermostat, providing the boilers are working properly between now and then, for a service as you suggested. Which email address should I send you a message as I can't find any a email address on your profile ? Hope you are doing the service as a special as I understand that you are on the expensive side ? :)
I thought I managed to get my hands on the Honeywell 927 stat as I won the bid early this week. But sadly, the seller was not able to deliver !! What a let down !!
BTW, I find that recently I have to turn on my hot water tap quite high before the boiler fires up. This is only in the kitchen. Is the boiler not working properly ? My shower mixer unit and the individual hot tap in the bathroom seems to be working ok and this is also from the same Mains Medway Automatic boiler. Nothing serious that needs immediate attention, I hope ?

Wiring on a Honeywell CMT927 Thermostat.
It's been a long while (due to personal economic situation) since I was last here on this post.
I trust everyone who helped me before are well ?
Now that situation has improved a bit and following my last post here, I have recently got myself a Honeywell CMT927 and trying to install it. But I have a problem as follows:
When I open up my existing timer, a Switchmaster 300, I can see only 2 wires from my central heating Elan boiler - a brown wire to L and the blue wire to N on the Switchmaster.
My question :
Where should I connect the brown (live) wire and the blue wire to on the CM927 ? Is it to the L or one of the terminals marked A, B, C and which goes were if it is to one of these ? I suspect the brown wire goes to B ? But not sure where the blue wire should go and I don't want to try a test in case I damage the CM927 due to power surge.
For the Mains supply, I assume they go to the L and N terminal on the CM927 and not one of the terminals marked A,B or C. But where should the Earth go to ?
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I managed to get a picture of the CMT927 to show what the A.B.C terminals are in my last post. Hope this helps.

If you only have the two wires from your boiler (not counting earth) I would say you connect it to A & B, as i found a pdf drawing of your stat.
The earth should have a single choc block put on it , but not connected to anything else.
But wait for a 2nd opinion.
Pdf drawing is at http://*please alert moderator- possible spam post*/site/honey ... cation.pdf
(Guess you will have to wait for a mod to check the link, but I can understand that)
