I have to write some some web-based user guides for about 8 applications I have written very soon so I was using big-all as a warm-up

Thanks for being my guinea pig
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

now it is working and you had a chance to actually use it - what you reckon to the Acer screen?
Reckon it is amazing how these things have come down in price and still quality kit

You should be able to get some software that will play them from any region.

What software are you using to watch your dvd's now?

DVDs are linked to regions,as you have found out. You can usually change the region on the player you have to watch a movie from another region, but only 4 times untl it is locked to last region - that should be an option for you.

My suggestion is to use another peice of s/w for the movies that are say Region 1 if most of your movides are Region 2
Best S/W to use is VideoLan (aka VLAN) - that will play just about any video from anywhere without complaining :thumbright:

google VideoLAN - it's a free download
