suppliers asked me to give it more cure time, i did spot a 3 days cure in the tech sheet for low pourous surfaces,
i'd put a course up sunday, i'll give it till wednesday and see how it's gone off, if it's still soft then i'll get it swapped.
sounds willing to swap if it turns out that it isn't setting correctly.

Ok wasn't in last night, so attacked one tonight, nearly 5 days been up

took fair bit of effort, couldn't take it off in 3 hits of the hammer & chisel,
had to move up and down the top edge before I was sure i could get it off without breaking

adhesive feels pretty solid, looks like it adhered to the silk that was up well,
pulled some finish plaster off and all the silk paint that was left behind that spot
(it was purple, didn't realise there was orange behind it as well!)
what you reckon?

If it has gone off properly then you will not be able to scrape it off the back of the tile even with a proper scraper that incorporates a stanley type blade.
If you are happy with the adhesive and how it has performed then use it. personally I would be using cement based.
if it has gone off properly then pop the tile in a bucket of boiling water and leave for 5 minutes the adhesive will then have softened enough to scrape off. You can use the tile again, then.

got a 3" paint scraper, I managed to scrape some off in the center 1/4 of the tile fairly easy but it wasn't having any of it 2 - 3" in from the edges outwards.
i've soaked it 20 mins in the bath in hot water then the rest peeled off easy as you explained.
in two minds, the courses i've laid so far shouldn't see any moisture during their life,
they also feel solid enough to me to last the distance.
the stuff behind and round the bath will however, so i'm thinking swap half of what i've got left for cement based and do the "will likely get wet" tiles with that.
Mrs isn't best pleased about it taking so long but i'd hate for a tile to come falling off at her.

I go with cement on tiles that size and to be honest, normally do virtually all tiles with cement based if in a bathroom or shower room.
