SPRING FOR RATCHET TYPE PIPE CUTTER

Hi all,

After just a few cuts with a Am-Tech Ratchet Pipe Cutter, I have lost the ratchet causing spring !

As usual, in a dark wet cellar & limited space, I was happily ratcheting away with this cutter,,, then it just stopped ratcheting :wtf: .

When I got home & took it apart, I see that the spring that causes the 'ratchet' was missing. How it fell out is beyond me - but fall out it did.

I've been in touch with the Company that owns (or runs) AmTech who can't help me (I think they want me to buy another of their tools ?!)

-----::-----
This brings me on to a couple of general moans:
(a) I don't like replacing tools just cos a bit fell off,,,
(b) I don't like buying the same brand of tool that give up after just a few goes,,,
(c) I don't like buying stuff where there seems to be no back up service.
-----::-----

I have been in touch with a couple of other Ratchet Pipe Cutter makers to see if their spares might fit,,,, but to noah vale !!

So - Does anyone out there know where I might be able to obtain such a spring please ?

I'm pretty sure it's a 'leaf' spring as opposed to a spiral spring !

thanks for reading

ADMIN: please feel free to move this to a more appropriate listing.

If you post a pic of the cutter, it may help people get an idea of what is needed?

The Inside of the Ratchet Cutter.
Both sides of the cutter 'body' seen very very similar (except one side has bold heads & tother has bolt tails.
The 'ratchet' effect is in one handle only.

Hope this helps,,,,,
