At last the clock in the car is now telling me the correct time.

I pressed every button I could find but until today my car clock has been one hour out??

It'll be wrong again in six months time.

It's not just finding the right button, it's pressing the buttons in the right sequence that's usually necessary.

If you give us a clue as to the make and model, someone might know, (or have handbook).

I've had my car from new for 7 years and today was the first time I managed to change the clock without resorting to reading the manual. I rewarded myself with a large bar of chocolate.

Same with my car, it auto changes. (pun intended)

I remember the car clock would wind it's self up every so often, so it did not loose time when battery disconnected for a short time, Smiths I seem to remember, but the old Jaguar had a small battery of it's own, lasted around 10 years or at least a long time, took me ages the first time as expected it to be supplied from car battery, but only light off car battery, then the LED then LCD came out and clocks were crystal controlled, so kept better time.

However easy way was set clock to GMT sorry now called UTC (unified time constant) as that is the time used with my radio world wide. The modern clock which connects to commercial radio and auto changes means your never sure if the clock has auto changed or not, and my Binatone Digimatic alarm clock is a pain as with a leaf digital clock can't go backwards, normally I switch it off for over an hour then move forward to correct time.

But with some clocks auto changing I am never sure if clock correct or not, my Auriol weather station should connect to some German clock to correct it, but in mid Wales that is hit and miss, some times it changes some times it doesn't one car clock only changes if you turn on radio, so in this room my watch is correct it auto changed, but other 3 clocks did not. One was at UTC so only half auto changed.

My clock is a display (LCD) on the entertainment unit and it's lost all the 'video' so NOTHING shows at all. Changing a radio station is now guesswork based on the remaining greasy finger print marks on where the < and > buttons are (or so we think).

I can live without the clock (always ended up saying 'I'll reset the clock next time I'm in the car' and ending up leaving it long enough for the clocks to go both forwards AND backwards so nothing changed!) but now there's no video the screen is pure white light! Wasn't too bad in the summer but these dark nights it's like driving with a torch shining in your face.

"Next time I'm in the car I'll tape some cardboard across the display" (in other words it'll soon be summer again and I'll never notice the difference )
