Hello everyone, I have a 2 gang 2 way switch in my hallway.
About to replace it with a new one.
Just wanted to know the wire set up.
There are 3 wires in total, ones the supply, one goes to the downstairs hallway light and the other I think connects to the upstairs hallway light.
Theres also a separate small link wire that connects L1 to COM
I think I've guessed the supply wire as its the only one with a neutral.
If anyone would be kind enough to explain whats what that would be great.
I've attached a picture.
Thank you.

You guessed wrong. Just because it is black does not mean it is neutral, if it were, as soon as you operate the switch you would connect live to neutral and BANG!

You connect it the same way your switch is now.

You may want to mark the wires with an indelible pen, and take another picture.............just in case

Sort of.

Is that switch the other switch that controls the landing light? if yes, the black and red are strappers. Strappers connect one 2 way switch to another 2 way switch.

So this is the hallway light switch, it turns on the hallway lights and the upstairs landing. Upstairs I have a one way light switch to control the landing only.

Sorry, your question is?

You still connect it to your new switch exactly as it is now.
