Hi
I have 2 wall lights and 1 ceiling light on same switch. Atm all are on halogen bulbs. I want to put LEDs on wall lights, is there a dimmer which will work with both LED and halogen bulbs in such scenario or is it a silly question?
Screwfix is selling Lap dimmer switch and in the spec it lists fluorescent, halogen, incandescent and Leds.

So long as you do NOT exceed the dimmer rating most dimmers will be ok.
Some dimmers work better with halogen lamps than LED lamps, so by having both lamps you solve a problem you did not know you would have had.

Quartz bulbs should not be dimmed, the quartz is so hot the tungsten will not settle on it, and will return to filament, over time the thickness of the filament varies until one bit is too thin and it ruptures, often causing ionisation which can take out an electronic switch. Run dim and the quartz goes black.
They can be run dim, but it reduces their life. With electronic current control in some cases the electronic control reads the wave clipping as a instruction to dim, so leading or lagging matters, others it is simply a capacitor and does not care. So if any electronic transformer or driver all need to be the same.
Also some bulbs have a smoothing capacitor others don't, so some have a tendency to flicker, one cure can be to have one tungsten bulb, so yes they can both be run from same switch, but only way to find out is to try.
But remember quartz bulbs can take out electronic switches when they blow, so consider the switch may be short lived.

I have cool white leds in bathroom and kitchen which don't need dimming and am very happy with them.
I am using G9 halogen on wall lights and E14 halogen on ceiling light in bedroom. The problem I am having G9 bulbs keep blowing changing 2 every 2-3 months, I am using OSRAM, energiser which are supposed to be good known brands not cheap chinese make but still.
