New mitre saw - dewalt
Going to get a new mitre saw.
Not sure whether to get the DWS777 - this seems to be their best 216mm saw. Ive had one similar for 15 years and its don't me proud. Or go for the DCS365 - this is the 184mm cordless which doesn't need flex volt.
I have a few dewalt 5AH batteries so thinking the 184mm will be a good nimble 2nd fix site saw. Does anyone here use it? How long do you get out of a battery? Whats the craic with extraction and cordless tools on site? Can you get away with a bag on the back if using a battery chop saw?
Cheers

Suppose the other option is to go FlexVolt 777 (216mm) with the plug in adapter and a flex volt battery. Have heard things about motors cooking on flex volt

my mate has the flex volt saw where ya need the 2 batteires. he also has the plug in adapter for it. hes owned it for a few years now and its been fine.
i often borrow it. cracking tool actually. although it is bloody heavy.
ive only seen a couplea lads with the smaller cordless saw. i reakon itd be a decent bit of kit for doing kitchens n that like. currently ive got to set up with my festool kapex which can be a bit of a pain on kitchens like especially in upstairs flats.
i used to run a dewalt dw701 for a long time but it got a bit old and i upgraded to the kapex..... but it is fliping massive like

This is the other option it's the 777 but in flex volt. Comes with 2 batteries and a charger so shouldn't run out of juice. It appears to only use one battery at a time unlike the 305mm saw. Might not even need the adapter for this with 2 batteries.
600 quid though about double the cost of 110v version.

the adapted only works with the double battery as its 110v [2x54v in series ]
the 777 will cain the batteries a bit as they are only 2ah at 54v[6ah at 18v]

Good tip pro al. Don't really want to go any bigger than 216 saw as portability starts becoming an issue.
Choice seems to be
216mm 777 flex with 9ah
216mm 777 110v
184mm 18v standard batteries

i suspect the 230-110v adapter works by clever series/parallel wiring not needing heavy electronics or a transformer
where as to reduce to 54v would need quite a heavy duty power conversion similar to a site transformer
