Hi
Got a Victorian mid-terrace (1880) with a full basement, with a big window and external door. Double skinned walls. About 350sq ft in total.
It is moderately damp on most walls which all have the old horse hair plaster which is crumbling away. Also a stone floor which is not damp.
I plan to remove the old plaster, clean the brickwork, tank the walls and floor with slurry and then plasterboard over.
I'm just writing to ask if there are any glaring obstacles that I might encounter and for any advice regarding plasterboard over tanking slurry - I'm aware that there can be issues with damp forming between the board and the slurry.
Thanks a lot

Cellar tanking advice
DIY attempts to tank basements are often unsuccessful - there's too many variables to take into account.
Your proposal for installing plaster board has slim chance of succeeding.
Best practice for tanking basements will involve interior and exterior considerations - a cellar perimeter channel - involve the floor and a sump pump in a pit. And bubble wrapping.
If you go ahead and do it your way I hope you succeed and come back here and report how you got on?
