general cutting of acrylic. temp tool needed?

Post by mart321 »

i have some acrylic sheet to cut. im going to be investing in a ooznest workbee cnc machine fairly soon but until then i need a tool which i can use. Im cutting generally 6mm acrylic sheet in widths up to 2metres. There is curvy lines and circular bends. can anyone recommend a good tool which will make this easy until im set up with a cnc. i have a grinder and jigsaw but both seem a bit heavy handed.

I have used the basic cutters with the very sharp tip for up to 3mm sheet as long as you scribe both sides then snap they work well, fine for straight cuts should work on thicker the same way.

I've seen these yea. They look OK for straight cuts but I'm going to be doing intricate shapes and rounded corners.
