Wiring in ceiling light help, please

Post by Stu5640 »

Hello.

I'm replacing some old light fittings in my living room. There's two fixtures and I did the first one easy. My confusion is in the second fitting, there's two red wires coiled together and two black wires coiled together (and then the earth wire). The other fitting I already did just had one of each.

Can I just wire this up as it was, with the wires still coiled together or do I need to separate them and wire it differently?

Yes.

The one you did first runs off this one, that's why there's two wires. They both work off the same switch, don't they?
