Sorry for the multiple pics, it's my first post on the forum.
I have an old DeWalt drill with no stickers and a battery that's the same
Can anyone here tell me what part number it is so I can source a 2nd hand charger please?
Thanks a lot and Hi to everyone
Dan

Dewalt battery with no part number

Post by dewaltdisney »

Before you do a load of money on batteries you need to do the 'is it worth it' equation. I have chucked two Dewalt drills as to replace the batteries was more than buying a new drill complete with new batteries. Why was this one junked? For £140 you can get a Dewalt twin pack see https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dck21 ... pack/3292t This Erbauer set is cheaper than one battery https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-edd1 ... pack/829fv. They are good, I have been using one for four years now.

general comments
nicad batteries can loose between 10 and 25% capacity a year dependent on quality
so a say 2ah as that being good quality but likley to be perhaps 12-15 years old as old design so perhaps 20% to zero capacity so off little use

with dewalt you have the same battery fitting that is bacward compatable over 3 battery types as batteries change
as in a nicad charger will only charge a nicad battery a nmh will charge nicad and nmh a lion charger will charge all three buuuuttt ---------------
further complicated by the fact black and decker are the same group with the same fixings now its only a guess but perhaps the batteries are slow charge only under the bxd brand thus the lug position way to the side rather than near central :dunno: :dunno:
but purely a guess
