Price rises

Well, they're here - in spades - well, at least for my business.

Raw chicken breast now costs 10% more and beef is up 20% - all from last week.

I can absorb this increase temporarily but there will come a time when it has to be passed on.

I've already been hammered for timber prices (up 45% over last year!) and can see second hand car and van prices soaring too. Many, many examples and yet not a mention anywhere in the media.

Except on the news today it was reported inflation at 2.4% highest it's been for a while.

Don't mind that as some of my income is index-linked - but noticeable that food shopping prices are increasing and the offers/deals are getting fewer.

Inflation at 2.4% because they miss out important things like house prices from the calculations. House prices up over 13%.

The true inflation rate is being hidden. It's claimed that 'shortages' caused by (you guessed it) Covid are pushing up prices temporarily but everywhere I go I see prices up and no indication of shortages.

They can hide these rises for only so long. If they want to stop them they'll have to increase the interest rates so they're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

How much longer can this deception be maintained?
