Dewalt de7023 universal mitre saw stand
Post by brightspark29 »
I have just taken delivery of a Dewalt de7023 universal mitre saw stand and need some help please. I have a Dewalt Mitre saw I am not sure if it is the dw701 or dw707 and I cannot for the life of me Phathom out how to fix the saw to the supplied brackets. There does not appear to be any holes in the saw base to put the bolts in to attach the brackets. I was informed when I purchased the stand that all Dewalt mitre saws would fit. I would very much appreciate if can anyone help me solve the mystery.
Thanks.

Have you read the instructions? I found them here

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks for your reply Someone-Else. I have read the instructions but I still cannot find any holes in the saw base where I can attach the supplied bracket bolts to. I wondered if any member owns either a dw701 or dw707 mitre saw and has fitted it to a de7023. Thanks for sending a copy of the instructions though.

ok havent got a clue
both my dewalts have holes within 50mm off the the rubber feet on a say 16mm specific thick area with a hole for a say 8mm bolt to pass through from memory on a "tab" or separate ledge
is your saw a new saw or quite lived in and possibly had the lugs cut off and filed for some reason
from underneath is there a threaded hole to affix too

Dewalt de7023 universal mitre saw stand
i used to run a dw701 mitre saw with this exact stand. there are holes on the outer most edges of the saws base
also... the dw701 has a speed control to adjust the motor speed and the dw707 does not.

The DW707 and later deWalt 216mm single bevel SCMSs have holes in the bsse to allow them.to fix to the later style saw benches. This is a DW707:
You can clearly see the holes for this in the feet. The DW701 dates back to Elu days and was designed for a different system where four tubes are pushed into openings, two in each end of the base, and each is held in place. Those four tubes in turn are inserted into special leg stands.
So if your saw is missing the bolt holes must be a DW701, which makes it fairly old (AFAIK the legstands went out of production more than 10 years ago, possibly longer), although my DW777 was designed to use both the legstands and the DE7023 type stands (I have a pair of legstands somewhere). There is a pair of legstands currently up for sale on eBay (deWalt DE3493), but you won't find them as handy to use as the DE7023 because they lack the material support arms of the newer stand

I was on a site the other week where a chap had the flex 216mm and the m class (i think) dewalt flex hoover, the one which just looks like a black box. He didn't have any complaints on the extraction. I wish I had cut something with it now. He said the hoovers eat the batteries. I think it connects to saw via bluetooth or radio wave or something to switch the hoover on? I keep threatening to upgrade to this setup but was put off with the cost of batteries and the 6ah ones might run out quickly, plus lack of flex volt lead to 110v - like the 305mm saws.fin wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 4:14 pmya can but that doesnt really work owa well like. i bought one to try it and soon gave up and upgraded to a festool kapex. although now if i was in the mitre saw market id go for the flex volt big beast with the 2 batteries and then get the dewalt stand back out again
I've got a generator and I might just renew the 216mm 110v. Mine is like getting on for over 10 years old now and still doing the job professionally. Don't get me wrong its not as good as it was when new (hence wanting to treat myself) but it's still earning me money which is not to be knocked.

Sorry for the delay getting back ,first of all thank you to all who have replied. I can confirm that the mitre saw in question is the Dewalt DW707 type 1. I have posted 2 images No1 shows the front of the saw base with no holes. Image No2 shows the rear of the saw base and as can be clearly seen two square holes that go right the way through and two round holes at the end of the black grooves adjacent to the square one’s which go all the way through. Would two bolts be enough to hold the saw on the supplied brackets, or am I missing something.

No, I think you need four. Yours must be an earlier saw with the end holes only for the Elu-style tube and legstand set-up, so it won't sit on the legstand properly. My DW777 has both the legstand holes and four drilled lugs, so it will work with both, although I just use it on the leg stands with a matching height home made trestle support when needed.brightspark29 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 6:53 pm Would two bolts be enough to hold the saw on the supplied brackets, or am I missing something.
The only other thing I could suggest would be a plywood sub-base drilled to work on the DE7023 adaptors, with maybe some metal angle plate screwed at each end and drilled and tapped into the ends of the saw base so you could screw the sub-base to the saw base).
The reach of your legstands can also be increased by fitting longer tubes - I believe the originals were made up to about 1.5 metres long or so, and it wouldn't be too difficult to make up extra work supports to fit on the tubes, would it?

Thanks Job and Knock for your reply, much appreciated. So much for Dewalt claim fits ANY Dewalt mitre saw, looks as though I’ve just chucked 150 notes down the drain buying the de7023.
