Help Identifying a Tool Set

Post by Jamesonestate »

Hi all

My father passed away recently and I’m in the process of clearing his house which has a fair amount of tools in it. Can someone assist in identifying what this Rothenberger tool set is please?

Thank you

:welcomeuhm: Extractor Set for air conditioning professional people; more likely in USA.
HVAC installers can use the tee-extractors for producing T-branches on copper pipes

That's great! Thanks so much. I'm sure I'll find more stuff I can't identify in the coming weeks.

What sizes are on the hooks? If they are metric the set is worth good money

I was wondering how the tee is fitted? Is it a tight fit in the raised hole edge that you just solder around? I have never seen one of those before

You use the special drill to make a hole in the pipe.

Hook the right size former in then when you turn it out it rotates and slowly as it rises it forms a very short raised branch in the pipe.

The pliers are there to put a dimple in the pipe you are installing to stop it pushing all the way through.

The you braze the new branch in with silver solder

I have a very large and expensive industrial tool that does similar called a T_drill but have always wanted one of these little sets as well.

Not an everyday tool but when you need them they can be invaluable

Thanks Ray, a perfect explanation. I suppose you could build a manifold with the tool easier than a series of tees as I would use
