Cordless Sander

What do you lot use?

I have mostly Makita kit but also a couple of dewalt batteries. From what I can see both brands do an orbital sander but dewalt does a square. This means I can use normal sandpaper and not have to buy special discs. For me this probably means i'd prefer the dewalt as its one less thing to have to worry about.

Does anyone else have anything else I should be considering? Does one do a better job than the other? I presume the square one can get a bit closer into corners than the random orbital which seems to be another plus?

Just ordered the Dewalt DCW200N

Got extra 5% off code FFX with free delivery tomorrow on royal mail 24hr. I also ordered a Makita cordless work light DML806. These were reduced plus got the 5% off.

All together 133.75 exc vat (160.5 inc vat) delivered to my door tomorrow. Can't argue with that. I watched a youtube review of some american guy but he basically said they're both good, didn't really choose between. I just want to buzz the edges of doors after i've planed them. I usually give my architrave mitres a rub with a folded piece of paper in my hand but may use the dewalt if its not too heavy. I like to get them pretty much flush with the mitre bond anyway so they don't need much.

ive used the dewalt random orbit battery sander.... my mate has that. i reakon ill buy the square one then between me and my mate we have both.

sander wise most of mine are festool so corded rather than battery. i normally give door linings and stop laths a quick sand up when i make them and also door edges and architrave mitres as you said.

I have the DW orbital and square in cordless. Both are good bits of kit when using the abranet sanding discs. I bought the vacuum attachments that fit onto my Henry vacuum and it's virtually dust-free

Been using it this week seems good enough for a bit of 2nd fix mdf

Are these parts to fit all/most dewalt tools, I use a Henry , but connection sometimes with tape - Mitresaw 778/planner/circular saw , I guess are the main dust - although i have other dewalt tools.

Yes, i did that as well, and it does make it a lot easier with tools
I'll have to look and see if those attachments are on offer anytime soon - Thanks
