Conifer Tree Pruning

Post by newdud »

I have a Conifer tree that overhangs from the neighbours garden. It is about 4-5m in height.
The needles drop into my garden and nothing grows underneath.
I would like to prune it back hard !

I was wondering if something like Telescopic Tree Pruner would do the job in cutting it back.

Pic of tree attached.

Two issues here. Do not underestimate the disposal of the green waste and secondly conifers look awful when the green parts are removed in part. I would recommend that you talk to the owner and share the cost of a tree surgeon to do it properly and reduce the height and make it unifrom. They will have a powerful chipper that is needed to reduce the cuttings into a mulch. I would say you are looking at £125 each.

The top has been cut a few years ago.
Also the other side is not where near as big as my side, my side faces sun hence grows faster.
I hate the bloody tree !

I am aware there will be lot to get rid off !

It is not really a DIY job, it needs a tree surgeon. To get it done right you need to do the whole face and that looks at least 30 foot. Anything else is scratching it. They are a bloody pain as the regrowth means that you have to have a cut back every year to stay on top of it unless they hack it back to the main trunk and then it looks unsightly.
