Hi,

Iam replacing my loft insulation to a thickness of 270mm, putting 100mm between the joists and then 270 over the top, then flooring it. I’m Putting 175mm loft legs on top of the joists which are 130mm which should give a slight air gap. My question is there is 20mm metal conduit running single cables to the lights and switches which is sitting on top of the joists, is the conduit permitted to be within the layers of insulation?

Thanks

Conduit is designed to give the cables mechanical protection, it usually get buried in the wall, so loft insulation will be no problem.
