Hi All,

I’m in need of a new built in oven. Best options for my needs all seem to come with standard 13A plug.

The current oven is hardwired to an Isolator Switch which contains a 13A fuse and is on its own circuit in the fusebox.

Question is can I simply replace the isolator switch with a standard plug socket to accommodate a new oven with a 3 pronged plug?

Or alternatively just remove the plug from the oven and hardwire in?

Thanks

Yes.

But that is for an oven only, NOT a cooker.

Sure replace the fused outlet with a standard 13A socket but if it’s directly behind the new oven you may find it sticks out too much ….. so then put the fused spur back in and hard wire the new oven

Do I take that as
Oven = Just that large box for 'roasting'.
Cooker = An oven plus hot plates and a grill?

Thanks
