Paslode 360xi

Bought one of these today. The hikoki was playing up yesterday then wouldn't fire at all today despite me stiring my tea with the gas canister this morning. Tried in I'm afternoon still no joy. Got all my head and sole plates cut and marked, then cut all my sticks and packed up. 658 later got the gun at local tool shop which I though was good price inc VAT and spare battery. Took hikoki to other tool shop where I bought for warranty repair and worked every Damn time! Don't know wether to keep as spare or flog?!

i had a reet nightmare a while back with my paslode 2nd fixer. it kept being a prize bell end. it would fire a nail then turn off. battery out and back in itd fire a nail then nowt.

put it in for repair and borrowed my mates dewalt 2nd fixer. couldnt get away with it.

went on a run of jobs where i didnt need a 2nd fix gun.... then started one and went to use the dewalt and id ran out of nails... so bought some more... this was at the height of the lockdown. the only nails i could get were from toolstation and they were no good. kept jamming in the dewalt gun as theyd been made slightly too big.

went and got my passlode back after a year of being in the repair shop to be told it was fixed..... they hadnt even Fuc$ing looked at it.

ended up buying the hikoki gasless 2nd fix gun which has been class so far. slightly more expensive like. the gasless framing nailer looks a good buy.

is the paslode youve bought the one that needs the specific type of gas? thats a lot more expensive?

Yeh I maybe should of considered gasless but I sold my dewalt first fix recently for being too heavy. I got what I paid for it and it had just gone out of warranty.

Yes the gas is the special one, but the site I'm on atm supply it. Also when I'm doing my own stuff I'll just swallow the cost or pass it on if working for someone. It's not that much more expensive that it will break the bank. Also they do say the paslode gas is better for paslode guns less quick to blog them up. The gun is supposed to be most powerful on the market and can fire in minus 15 deg with this gas so no messing in winter!

ah i dont mind the dewalt like. my makita gas gun is in bits in its box. if i get a job where i need 2 guns ill have to fix it like. if the dewalt ever goes tits up then ill probably go for one of the hikoki gasless guns i think...

I think if you're a pro there's something to be said for keeping a tool until it's warranty is up then flogging. Its not my style really but I did it with dewalt and can see the benefits. I think it's ever better if you have hilti I think they supply replacement tools if yours is ever in for repairs

aye sure they do but hilti are a premium like.

i cant complain the dewalt gun was a tester so it was free through this site as it happens somehow anyway.

i dont do that much with it so that could be why its lasted so long. plus it did go back into dewalt a few times for repairs also
