What Are These Oval Clamps For?

Hello. I see these are for clamping power tools but for what purpose other than tool repairs would you need to clamp them? I can only assume to clamp diametrical shapes like pipes...

That's what they're designed for. If you want (need) to use them for another purpose then 'that' purpose is whatever you find them useful for.

Not everything is required to be 'multi-purposed' - just use them for what they are intended.

Looks they are designed to make a handtool into a bench mounted version for more accuracy etc.

you have to be careful, the tendency is to overtighten that can deform or damage or squeeze the innards not in a good way
