What size of backbox do you think I'll need with this? The description doesn't say.

I'm hoping a 25mm will suffice.

Get the deepest that will fit the recess. More room is better than too little. Nothing lost (except maybe a few pence) by using the deepest that fits - and if it doesn't fit the 'deepest' then you can't use the spur anyway!

47mm seems excessive and will take me ages to dig out. Gonna go with 35mm.

Just asking, have you not got an SDS drill?

Usual way is to drill holes round perimeter, then corner to corner, then a few more, then use chisel bit to take out whats left.

Never use 25 mm back boxes is my advice

Made me smile regarding the Item Desription.
This device is suitable for high-voltage kitchen tools such as ovens, dishwashers, fridges and washing machines.
Whilst reinforcing the concept of the female being a 'domestic engineer' it blatantly ignores the 'current/power' requirements appropriate to the listed items.

Who the hell do they employ to write these things? :dunno:

I'd never use a 25mm box either.

It's called stitch drilling. Yes I have several SDS but I see no point digging out more than I need. I opted for the 35mm. It's in now.
