i have the dcd 996 and its an amazing 900w and thought thats about the limit ------ well wrong they now do a dcd999 1200w but needs a flexvolt battery for full performance but i assume it still works with 18v but reduce output or performance :dunno:

I have the 996 and it's awesome. I now don't have to dig out my Flexivolt SDS all the time.

because 1200w is the output power the mains input equivalent would be perhaps 1500-1600w and make a handy medium sized 1/2 router :dunno:

speck for the dewalt 625e-qs as an example off input /output difference

Power Input 2000W
Power Output 1400 W
Length 290 mm
Height 295 mm
Hand/Arm Vibration 3.1 m/s²
Uncertainty K 1 (Vibration) 1.5 m/s²
Sound Pressure 92 dB(A)
Sound Pressure Uncertainty 3.4 dB(A)
Sound Power 100 dB(A)
Sound Power Uncertainty 3.4 dB(A)

i am surprised they haven't introduced a 54v router although suspect you would need a 9 or 12 battery because at 54v the batteries are in series so are actually 3 and 4 amp so 6/2amp wouldn't last long

well the hikoki router looks to be alright like. itll depend what you use them for. my half inch makita router is almost exclusively used on kitchen worktops. its all it does. i should imagine a battery router would last well enough on worktops.

i think the restricting factor here seems to be the amount off energy you can get from a single cell [watts]at maximum level and thats why using a54v battery will give more watts not because it has more voltage as its being used in the series+ parralel way[18vx3]rather than series [18v +18v+18v=54v] so each group off batteries seem to give out around 400-450w so a 4/5ah has 2x18v groups so can give out say 850w and 3x18v groups in a 6ah/54v will give out 50% more so around 1300w
so with a 40v[2x18v] hitachi would be very close to an 18v as energy extraction seems to be the governing factor :dunno:
now the actual watts given out are a wild guess so may be far more but still seem to be the limiting factor :dunno:
