Anyone seen the adverts for the new SkyTV service?
I've just cottoned on to the fact that it's not a TV you can buy..... you have to RENT it (£13/month) AND have a Sky Account (£39/month) to use! Not to mention an internet connection with a minimum of 25Mb download capacity!
So, £52/month for a (lousy?) 43" TV plus a drain on your internet connection? Makes the BBC seem value for money
(but you still have to pay the BBC to watch Sky TV services too - now that's fair, isn't it?)
Has anyone fallen for it?

I binned Sky about 8yrs ago. Now I only pay £18pm for Broadband, £50pa for my IPTV service and €36pa for a real debrid account. I haven't paid for a TV licence for about 16yrs.
This equates to around £300 for the year and I can watch everything including all the football.
I know people who pay over £100pm and still can't watch everything.

I looked into it for Mrs D's elderly aunt who asked what I thought as she was thinking about Glass after reading a mailshot. She has a Sky+ box already and I said I did not think it stacked up as a deal for her. I said that she would be better off buying a smart TV and getting Netflix which would give her better content and access. She would only want a 40" TV which can be had very cheaply and Netflix would only be a fiver a month through Sky so it would be a better option. She is not looking for a shilling but she could see what a crap deal the Sky offer was after I explained it to her. It seems a poor idea to me.

What is all that stuff Argyll? I can get a dodgy fire stick with everything on for a good price but the in-laws would lose their access to our legit services. Missus would keep Amazon anyway for the delivery
