Surface Mount pattress box on plasterboard

Post by Synthguy »

Hi, I want to surface Mount several pattress boxes for my new screwless sockets. The walls are all studded plasterboard.
Which fixing would you recommend to attach the boxes to the wall ?

Why? Normally, drywall boxes would be used for this, these are plastic back boxes that insert, & clip in, to the plasterboard...... and would look neatest.

Where do your feed cables come from/go to?

Well, if you insist on using surface boxes, then conventional plain yellow (5mm) plugs would do, carefully installed & using the correct size screws. Or you can get plasterboard plugs, these have "barbs" on the end that spread behind the board as the screw goes in.

There's various other types of plug for plasterboard as well.
