This time it is something modern.

Roughly 11min 20secs into this YouTube video,

he picks up a tool which fits in a drill and rotates so 'cleaning' the outside of 15mm copper pipe ready for soldering.

It is obviously just a barrel with wire bristles on the inside but I have seen one before.

I'm still making do with the old blue barrel with 15mm at one end and 22mm at the other.

Like you, I have the blue barrel tool but invariably use my lump of wire wool that I've had for over twenty years. Not seen these but plenty on the interweb, for instance, Am-zon here. You've got to have room to wield the drill, plenty of circumstances where wire wool would be easier.

Thanks for the link. Those shown look ultra 'cheapo' and the reviews [some] are carp!

A lot of our work is 'bench assembled' so access is rarely an issue. It is not exactly prudent to use 'hot work' in a Heritage Railway Carriage where the wooden interior/fixings have been 'drying out' for more than half a Century, unless other precautions are taken.

But thanks.

I only did a very quick search to show that they're available & what they're called. Sure better quality ones exist, maybe:
