Bond Film - No Time to Die

Post by dewaltdisney »

I have finally seen the newest Bond film on Amazon Prime. I am glad I did not do £20+ at the cinema to see it as I found it a bit disappointing. The master criminal is played by short arse Rami Malik who plays every role he does in the same way, I kept thinking of his Freddie Mercury which only differed by a set of false teeth. Okay, the Bond film formula is pretty much the same, car chases, fights, high body counts, explosions, secret lairs, a master criminal with world domination plans. This more or less happens but now the dead hand of the tick box casting was present and we see high profile black and gay actors worked into the story as padding. The ending would suggest that the future of Bond films may well bomb as audiences will not be warm to new trends and characters. More A Time to Quit than No Time to Die.

Apparently (so says Mr Google), sitting around 2m away from a 65" TV screen is the equivalent of a 'cinema experience'. I'm 2.4m from imne - that seems good enough!

My screen is 65" and I thought the visual was good, especially the panoramic shots. I am criticising the acting, story and creeping wokeness. I suppose Bond cannot continue as a bloke shagging all and sundry and being manly, driving gas-guzzling cars, etc, as that is taboo these days. The new Bond will be a celibate limp wrist, driving a Prius carrying an air pistol, and no doubt dark of skin.

It has sadly had it.

I would say that a tv at home will never be as good as a proper cinema, unless of course you have a proper cinema room at home with the latest sound system

Yes, the sound system makes a difference - we have a surround sound that we rarely use - it's 'too good/loud'!

DWD has the gist of it though - we won't be seeing movies that we are familiar with any more with all the woke stuff being forced upon us. You've heard what they're doing to Dr Who FFS ::b Nothing is sacred any more - and the worst thing about it is that it's pushed on us without any discussion, in fact any discussion is actively censored as with many of the contentious issues of the day.

I'm starting to feel inadequate now, mine's only 42" ... Does the fact that it's 4K make up for lack of screen size ???
