Thanks for raising this important issue, ''Gadget''.
I'm about to embark on a project which will involve lots of metal drilling.
I'd also be interested in the cutting oil/liquid, ppl recommend when drilling metal

For proper metalwork you can't go wrong with Dormer.

You get what you pay for!

What type of cutting fluid depends on the metal that you're drilling :thumbleft:

I am also a great fan of Dormer drills having used them for more years than I care to remember!

A couple of years ago I helped a guy in our village to install a replacement en-suite in our house. We needed to drill an in-situ RSJ (welding was out of the question) to fit a roof support. We used a twin flute cobalt tip drill which went through the RSJ quite easily. After that I treated myself to a set of Heller cobalt tip drills (albeit single flute!). With a powerful drill/driver they cut through most hard metals easily. In addition I use cutting fluid that I bought through Amazon, it saves the work piece and drill bit overheating.
