Fitting replacement Kitchen doors.

I have purchased replacement kitchen doors from Howdens but typically the hinge holes are not in same position as original doors

Stupidly I assumed this would be standard.

Some holes are not too far off but beyond what the hinges can adjust too.

I guess my option is to move position of hinges in the carcass. If that's the way you'd do it are there any tips on how to accurately position them if you are on your own.

It is not too hard to do if you set about it methodically. Firstly you need a bit of board to mimic the carcase side wall. You put a new door with the hinges against the board to plot the arm positions, Trace around and then detach a hinge mounting plate and mark the screw holes on the board. You can then fabricate a template for alignment and drilling the pilot holes for the mounting plates. The position of the arms may vary on depth from the cabinet top edge depending on door size but the screw holes will be consistent.

Careful measurement is key.
