Just been and bought a cheapo 30 quid plug in drill to use with my souber lock jig. I have been using my cordless makita with it upto now but it's not really got enough rpm.

Rather than spend decent money on a one trick pony I would rather find a lightweight sds with high rpm in drill only mode. Like about 2500 minimum. Anyone know of any model which fits the bill?

when i use mine i just go with my battery drill. for me a dewalt brushed model. dunno if they have different spin speeds or not..

i did use it with an old corded hammer drill (not on hammer obviously ) but i think the switch on that one broke. so its sat in its case somewhere untouched for a few years haha

I don't think you'll get a high speed sds drill. They aren't made like that.

Well the 30 quidder did a smashing job. Don't get me wrong the cordless does do it but it puts a bit of strain on the tool and rinses batteries. I'd rather use a corded for lock bodies. I'll just stick with the cheapo they maybe go 110v if or when it fails. I'm using it in a lot of student flats atm so 240 ok and power always nearby
