Black n Decker Drill BD155RT - Kerb Find. Broken?

Hi everyone, obsessively frugal as I am I couldn't resist walking off with this drill in apparently nice condition in it's own metal box and everything.
It has quite an interesting fault (if it is a fault) - it starts up slowly but seems to have plenty of power when it gets going. I've already set speed and torque to maximum - is there some other slow-acceleration type setting I'm not aware of? Or do we just think the motor might be on the way out?
All thoughts much appreciated. If it's a dud the chuck is at least worth nicking for my other drill!

Slow start would be a feature on some tools although if excessively slow maybe knackered as you suggest

? I have always wondered that.
As for your question it may well have "slow start" (it may not) but if you are happy with it. What does the manual say? (google for a manual)

https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dicti ... everything. Boom. Happy to help :D
Thanks for your replies everyone. It does actually have the instruction pamphlet in there (one of the "other things...also involved"), no mention of a slow-start feature though. Oh well, maybe I'll open er up, give the brushes a spray
