I first read it on here but I was sceptical. Think it Big All who first mentioned it.

I shall try that on my drill later as that is exactly what happens the bits seem to fall out after initial tightening hence me saying in the Erbauer drill thread that the chuck is not great. I will report back.

it is already fully tight 'probably all it will be doing is moving the ratchet to the release position before releasing ? :dunno:

interesting my dewalt does click back 1 step and seems locked , although like the video there is slack in the chuck lock now - i will have to experiment, as often i find the chuck does get lose and wonder if this despite the slack will actually lock better

Done this for a few years 1 click back, and you never have a bit come loose again, especially when removing screws

my dad has a makita dril that forever has bits falling out. i hate the fliping thing. one of my dewalts has just basically died. it stopped auto stopping. stupid thing. ill check the other 2 out tomorrow.

I tried my drill and although I did not get a reverse click it did seem to tighten up. I will check further when I get it in use.

to work out if its locking you would need to do perhaps 25 times one way for a whole day then 25 reverse click for 25 days and compare :dunno:

my dewalt angle drill does this... but my dewalt older standard drill doesnt. mad.
