worcester bosch diverter valve

On the diverter valve There is a small black slotted screw there (see the photo). Could someone advise me what is it for, is it an adjustment?

I am guessing because there is no adjustment for this valve so it might have been the mechanical indicator for the position of said valve.
Why do you need to know?
What are the clear water beads on the unit?
