Irrespective of your views the Coronation was a masterpiece of organisation and all of those involved carried it out so professionally. The ceremony could have done without the long church service part which was a bore but the main ceremony went off very well. The procession was well done and the hats off and cheers was absolutely perfect. We had to start switching channels in the dwell when the BBC put some idiot on spouting on about slavery and then some goon started off about the anti Royal protest that was minor. The street presenters only seemed to find black people to talk to so we have ended up muting the sound waiting for the flypast.

I might have guessed the comments would be as such.

Ah well, I enjoyed it.

Must have missed that whilst on the loo...

I too enjoyed it as did the Mrs., even most of the Churchy bits. Nice to see hundred thousand plus (guestimate) supporters on the Mall.

Absolutely concur about the precision of the military, how they got that synchronised for the parade back to Buck house...

I thought that the precision of the change in the ranks to get the column reduced in width for the gates was phenomenal. It was so accurate you hardly noticed. Our armed forces were superb today and it was a spectacular show that no one else in the world could try to match.

I didn't watch it live but later in the evening we were round at my sister in law's where I saw some of it as she had taped it and her father wanted another look.

I'll confess at that point I put the subtitles on but even then I struggled to actually understand what the choirs were singing.
I saw a part of the carriage ride after the coronation and did notice one of the horsed guards had a dent in his breastplate but otherwise couldn't fault the presentation.

@Grendel, when It comes to armour, we can both spot the smallest dent in it. Breast plates were made by Firmins in Birmingham.

Buy and large I enjoyed it. I felt the service in the abbey could have been done in a hour rather than two but I really enjoyed the parade aspect of it. I didn't bother watching the concert on Sunday as I anticipated it wouldn't be very good.

During the main part, I became rather fed up with Clare Blading gushing about how wonderful Prince Louis was, and her absolutely inane questions when talking to various experts. I was very annoyed that Hugh Edwards wasn't given a much bigger role in the commentary, especially since he handled the broadcast of the death of the queen and her subsequent funeral so well. Instead we had to put up with three women when a man and a woman would have been far more equal but the BBC, in its quest for ticking more boxes than are present, had to foist three women on us. I'm for equality but having three women was not representative of the population of the UK.

The only dent I saw was the back of Harry's head or was that a trick of the light?

Honestly it was much better than some on here have said, some outstanding performances and the light shows by the drones were incredible. I enjoyed (most) of it as did the Mrs.

Still on I player if you wanna give it a go.

I saw sone of that via the BBC’s β€œnews” page. I realise it’s all done by computers but some clever person has to write the software that does it. Very impressive.

Pure luck I spotted it to be honest. My wife had it on in the background and as I walked in looked at the screen and noticed it. I wound it back so mrsG could see it and she could clearly see it , a dent in the lower right of the breastplate. We did wonder why the dent was there seeing as these things aren't exactly used in anger.

Probably a horse kick. I have had a few of those in my time. Bending over checking the shoes, the horse gets spooked and it kicks out instinctively. That is my guess.
