Hi Everyone, I just wanted to see what are the opinions on this matter as I have just had new door frames and architraves fitted and I noticed tiny gaps upto 2mm some 1mm. These gaps are in between the door frames and architraves. Would they need to be filled in? I have shown pictures.

The standard of timber these days is poor so the decorator has to make it good. Firstly sand the new wood carefully smooth and ease the edges. You need to get a shellac knot filler on all of the knots to stop bleed and staining. Use decorators caulk to fill the gaps and nail heads. A primer undercoat and two top coats should see it come good.

Thanks DWD, do you have any recommendations for the shellac knot filler?
