Sikkens Query

Post by rautospoon »

I have almost “run out” of Rubbol BL Primer (blue label) and Rubbol BL Satura (purple label) both “water based” that I have used for many years and found to be first class.

I understand these (unbelievably !) are no longer produced ? If so, are alternative Sikkens (“water based”) products available ?

If not, what is currently recommended as being the "Rolls Royce" of "water based" satin finish ?

Many thanks.

Rather surprised not to receive a single reply ? Is the activity on this forum "on the wane" ?

I didn't comment because I've never used those products.

I have to be honest and say I rarely use water-based on internal woodwork as I just don’t like the finish (look and feel) or that it usually requires three coats instead of two. Before I start a job, I do explain to my customers why I prefer oil-based and that it will fade over time, and they are still happy for me to use it.
