Neighbour cut through lawn mower wire
Neighbour cut through wire on lawn mower and asked me to fix it.
That's the safest high quality way to repair it? Don't mind ordering kit from amazon etc.
Am I look at solder and heat shrink? Or are there more professional higher quality ways to fix it?

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

Used one per DWD for more than 20 years with my hedge trimmer, pin side to trimmer, and was happy with the fact it could pull apart as a safety aspect, also made gathering up the electrical lead easier. Sadly no hedge at my present aboade and mate managed to bust trimmer cam mechanism by snagging a plant support fan wire whilst borrowing the clipper.

Just to clarify, the item DWD links to must be installed with the male fitting (pronged) on the appliance side, the female (socket side) to the lead that plugs into the electric.
Get it the wrong way round and and the prongs will be live. Dangerous.

I did not think to mention that, I do recall now a wiring diagram in the pack showing that, now you mention it. As for pulling out my plug-in joint connection is very firm and tight and it has never come apart.

I've used the same as dwd with little problem. Probably would have been better not to plane or cut the cable but either way they're better than the chocblock and tape I saw on some of dad's tools...
Saying that I recall a post somewhere about putting wraps of tape around cables at random points to try to make the cable look less "pinchable" ...

If you want a permanent connection, use an IP rated joiner
ie.

3 pin plug and socket

or replace the cable
