Bolt cutter safety
When a bolt cutter is used to cut through a troublesome wood screw the cut end usually flies off in unpredictable ways. Eye protection helps to keep eyes safe. However, the screw head could still cause injury if it hits you somewhere else on the body. This has never happened to me, yet, but I do worry about it at times. One way I have used to make the job a bit safer is to stick a ball of blutack on the screwhead. I work to the assumption that the increased mass will reduce the velocity of the projectile and the blutack is less likely to cause serious injury. Any other ideas here for how to make the operation safer?

can you use a cut down plastic bottle to catch the screw as it flies - not sure on where you are doing this and if thats possible - maybe blutack on the wood - with a gap for the bolt cutter

I at first dismissed this as snowflakery, I rarely use bolt cutters as an angle grinder with a cutting disc is better, but then the sparks could set fire to your trousers.
