Leak under kitchen sink

Post by hiace_drifter »

I have a leak under the kitchen sink...

Image

It happens mostly when water emptied down that sink, but also seeps out when washing machine drains, or when water emptied down the right hand sink (everything is connected just below that picture).

The grey plastic component looks a bit wonky, so I hope I just need to loosen and refit so it is flush. I will also check for blockages where the pipes all meet in case water is not flowing properly. Any other suggestions?

Check to make sure the plastic the thread is going into hasn't cracked.

Those wastes are terrible. I always put a smear of silicone either side of the washer so I don't have to graunch it up too tightly

Thank you, are there any better sort to swap them with? As i will be dismantling it all, I'm happy to upgrade to reduce chance of further issues.

Do exactly that, if the water is rising back up the pipe from the washing machine outlet then there will be a partial blockage somewhere that needs clearing.
