Laminate worktop with dip due rot

Hi,

I’ve got a kitchen worktop with a dip in the laminate behind the taps. Whoever installed it, didn’t put any form of sealant and the chipboard has rotted away, leaving a 2-inch dip in the laminate.

As a temporary measure, I want to install a splashback but need to fill the dip in the laminate.

Any suggestions?
