So the saw just stopped. I checked voltage from the wall outlet, saw power cord. switch. The wires or coils do not look burned. I cleaned off the armature which wasn't that dirty. The brushes seemed okay although I don't know how to check them. The blade and gears turn freely. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

how old and how much use ?
i have seen a few cases where the brushes look OK and replacing them fixes the issue both on festol models track saws
see peter millard and robin clevett youtube videos, both surprised brushes was the fix
if you can get cheap replacement brushes maybe worth trying

Thanks for the replies!
Yes I am in the U.S. I was using the KISS method. So I wanted to make sure the first step was the outlet.
I will try new brushes. That would be simple enough.

I have a voltage meter. I guess what I would need is what readings I should get from component to component like where on the switch do you take a reading to see if is working.

I fixed it! Inside the handle there was a wire, the black one, that registered with continuity using a volt meter. But when I moved the wire it came or was broken. I replaced that wire and wala! it worked.
