What's your opinion on the cost to fix this issue here. (see photos)

The supporting timber purlin has suffered from a crack to the mid section here and is supported by some additional struts at the moment. Are there any structural engineers here to give an opinion on the damage here?

What might it cost to fix this?

What might it cost? too many factors to consider, e.g. what else is wrong, condition of other timbers, and suppose a forum member says £750 and another member says £5,312+vat you still have no idea how much it will cost, may I suggest you get 3 quotes and take it from there. Sorry it's not the answer you wanted, but sadly it is true.

Well if it was me I would jack up the splt purlin and sister a same size timber on both sides. Additionally, I would add another strut under the split area and if necessary replace those two white struts to ensure it is all well supported. You can use a bottle jack, £20 on eBay, with a load spreading board as a base and a timber between the jack and the purlin for the lift. Just make sure that you have a firm base to sit the jack on under the purlin.

This roof appears to be lacking in so much timber for bracing and tie beam; the purlin has no chance to keep the roof stable unless it is only a boarded felt type roof.
