Anyone know what this is?

Post by barnsdog »

Hi all, I wasn’t sure which section to put this into but this stuff keeps peeling off onto my floor and just wondering what the cause/remedy would be? Images included to what I am referring to. Obviously the radiator hasn’t been turned on for a long time now, wouldn’t think it’s related to that, I really have no clue what it is or the cause so any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Peeling off from where? (You don't say)
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

That’s the thing I can’t decipher? It’s a total mystery to me where it is emanating from, just hoped someone may have come across this before?

:dunno: my best guess would be summat put on behind the radiator to reflect heat back in the room that has broken down.

Can you get a torch down behind the radiator ?

Just tried to look down the back with a torch, can’t see anything obvious so it’s a mystery

Actually T that might be it. Is it a thermal layer in the curtains breaking down. It could have dried out over time and got brittle.

Looks like what just happened to me. I was given some of those curtains with the rings already in them to thread over the pole I think they are called eyelet. Turns out it is the interlining for the section where the rings are attached
