Hi there, wondering if anyone can help me identify the type of flooring in my hall. I've enclosed a couple of photos, with one showing the side profile of the flooring (I've placed a knife there for clarity - the flooring is above the level of the knife, below it is just a piece of wood).

Once I've established that, if possible I'd like to strip it back and refinish it (depending on the answer to the above I guess), while also getting rid of the bleach stain you can see in the corner of one of the photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated - FYI the floor is around 13mm in depth.

Thanks!

Looks to be a laminate type flooring that looks like parquet flooring... may be an "engineered floor" though. is there an area you can sand back that won't show if it turns out to be laminate ??

ok looks to me like 3 layers
if you look on the lh side there are several verticals lining up exactly with the surface grain so looks like a thick wear layer to me ??
now with the grain going in all directions may be difficult to get smooth i simply dont know perhaps diagonal in both directions :dunno:

Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated. I'll try sanding a hidden part and see what happens!
