Can I replace a sink unit with 2 smaller units?

Post by tadaska »

I have almost finished my kitchen planning. All fits perfectly except the sink unit. The gap I have is 1100mm but the sink units on DIY-Kitchens website are all 1000 or 1200. I want a sink unit with a drawer on the right side but if I fit the 1000 one it kind of ruins that whole perfect fit. What if I fit 2 normal units instead? Lets say a left hinged 600 unit on the left and a right hinged 500 unit with a drawer on the right? Would that allow a sink to be fitted? I don't care about the uneven look (full door on the left and with a drawer on the right). I will be having a mix of drawered and undrawered units anyway.

But those are just normal 1100 units. Are they suitable for sinks? The other DIY-Kitchens company (diy-kitchens.com, or are they the same company?) have units that are for kitchen sinks - they have an option of a drawer on one side. I really need that drawer. It's a fairly small kitchen and not too many places to have drawers due to various layout considerations.

Since diy-kitchens.com has no 1100 options I take it they are not the same company? Does diy-kitchens4u.co.uk have good quality? I could use them instead.

tadaska, Almost exactly what I have, 600mm unit on the left which has a 1 and a 1/2 sink unit with the drainer to the right. so long as you have a good kitchen fitter ... no problem.
