I need some help on converting a switch to smart. I have a two speed extractor fan controlled by a simple on/off switch with neutral and a separate two way fast/slow toggle switch. Can I control this with a single 2 gang 2 way I LumoS smart switch, wired as follows?
gang 1 L live in, L1 out to gang 2 L
gang 2 L in from gang 1, L1 to slow fan, L2 to fast fan
neutral to both gangs and out to fan.
Will this work as gang 1 switching system on/off and gang 2 toggling fast/slow?
Thanks

smart switch help
Most smart switches do not just switch on/off they vary the output (dimming to you and me) Your fan sounds like it does need either on or off for the slow/fast function to work. You can get "smart units" that do indeed switch on/off (as an example, sonoff make such a device)
You would be better off asking Lumos directly what their switches do.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

smart switch help
I know how my smart switches work, but not yours, and I also have no idea how the extractor works.
Energenie would not work, as it needs to pass current through bulb, TP-Link may work as it uses batteries to power it. But one contact is common to both switches.
So need more info.

smart switch help
I have finally found a two way I LumoS smart switch, and it is interesting as only two strapper wires required not the normal three, however the switch does not have a neutral or a battery. So it relies on the current through the bulb to power the switch. So it can't be used for non lighting.
The TP-Link switch works with a battery, which is unusual. So you can switch it off/on even when no power connected to the switch, so it does not matter which wire is feed and when goes to the appliance. But two gang has one terminal normally connected to power in, and one out left hand switch and one out right hand switch, so it may be possible to have two speeds. But need to give details about the fan.
