Wren Indigo Blue shaker kitchen

Post by wenlaw »

Hi, I have recently bought a house with a fairly new Wren Indigo Blue (Matt woodgrain) shaker kitchen. The layout of the kitchen does not really work - for instance there are barely any drawers, the hob is in the wrong place on the island etc.
I'd like to remodel without ripping the whole thing out and starting again, and preferably without completely replacing all the doors/drawers/panels as, even though the kitchen is not quite my taste, it would be a shame to waste something so new.
My problem is in dealing with Wren to buy any extra parts - they seem to have me over a barrel. I have managed to source free/cheap Wren carcasses and drawers, but I am not allowed to buy any doors/drawer fronts etc without buying a minimum of 5 new carcasses from Wren at ridiculous prices. I have contacted quite a few replacement door companies and am struggling to exactly match the Wren fronts.

What I'd really love is for the DIY kitchen fairy to wave a wand and find a load of these secondhand (I am checking online regularly). In the absence of that does anyone have any ideas about how to proceed without breaking the bank?
There are currently 20-25 doors/drawer fronts, and I'd be looking to get another 6 drawer fronts (800s), dishwasher front, and associated end panels and plinths. Based in East Sussex. Would be doing the work myself.

MDF shaker doors and drawer fronts in the same style and size required should not be too hard to find and you can get the existing colour scanned and paint made up to match. You could either hand paint the new parts or take them to be sprayed.

Thank you. I will keep looking. It's been difficult to get the same stile/rail size (90mm), same grain direction on panels etc...

It might be that they are made from wood and painted. I made my kitchen cabinet doors out of poplar and birch faced ply. You can see the grain on those. Take a good picture so I can work out what you have. Take a hinge off and check the cup mortice to check the material
